Our impact

Open Doors for Youth

Open Doors for Youth serves area youth ages 16 to 23 who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. A TRCF grant provided essential support for its drop-in resource center, located in downtown Elk River.

Open Doors for Youth is a safe, welcoming community resource where young people experiencing homelessness can access needed goods and services while building trusting relationships with helpful adults. Funding from Three Rivers Community Foundation has provided essential support for our resource center located near downtown Elk River.

Having an actual facility, where youth can walk-in Monday through Friday and receive both basic supplies and individualized case management is critical. In 2017 we worked with 91 young people who visited our center 720 times. We are grateful to the Three Rivers Community Foundation for supporting our mission of creating communities in which youth experiencing homelessness find hope and feel supported and valued.
