ISD 728: Feeding Students in Poverty
About 17% of students in the ISD 728 school district live in poverty, and some go through the school day without eating breakfast or lunch. With help from a TRCF grant, the school district has established an “angel” fund to ensure all children get a warm meal at school.
With the Three Rivers Community Foundation’s willingness and commitment to assist ISD 728 families who utilize our food service options, TRCF is truly delivering on its mission to improve the quality of life in our area and strengthen our community by investing in our children.
We appreciate our community partnerships throughout the school district, and because of the support from TRCF, students have access to quality meals, regardless of their ability to pay. Their assistance makes it possible to educate, inspire and empower all learners in our communities every day.
